While so many elements of product demand have fluctuated since the pandemic in 2020, one of the more significant known issues has been mobile chip demand<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re unsure of what that means, consider the automobile industry as an example.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most newer vehicles rely on chip technology. During the pandemic, there has been an unprecedented shortage of chips, leaving consumers waiting months \u2013 if not years \u2013 for their new vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now three years into the pandemic, chip-making demand has taken a sharp turn for the worse \u2013 and quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, what does this sudden change in chip demand have to do with search demand? A lot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading Chipmakers Release Bleak Forecasts<\/h2>\n

According to The Financial Times<\/a>, Qualcomm slashed 25% of its revenue forecasts for the current quarter due to slow customer spending. Specifically, this affects smartphone sales.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mobile chip makers aren\u2019t the only ones making changes. It\u2019s estimated that sales of personal computer processors will decline 40% year-over-year.<\/span><\/p>\n

These projections were a stark change from a year ago when stock prices were, at times, sky-high. Demand was there for these technology chips in all sectors: auto, smartphones, virtual reality, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to demand, supply chain issues caused a domino effect of worldwide shortages.<\/span><\/p>\n
