TikTok is rolling out Photo Mode, a new photo slideshow editing tool that mimics the features of Instagram, along with a few other new features, including enhanced editing abilities and longer captions.<\/p>\n

TikTok Introduces Photo Mode<\/h2>\n

TikTok announces<\/a> in a blog post that it\u2019s rolling out Photo Mode, a carousel format made specifically for sharing still images on the app. In addition to still photos, creators can add music to their posts.<\/p>\n

Posting content in Photo Mode is similar to posting regular video content in the app.<\/p>\n

How To Use TikTok Photo Mode<\/h3>\n

To start creating content in Photo Mode, hit the \u201c+\u201d icon at the bottom of the For You page.<\/p>\n

In the bottom right, click the \u201cUpload\u201d button to open your photo gallery. Choose the photos you want to add to their carousel and click \u201cNext.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like with TikTok\u2019s video posting features, the content editing page will appear. This is where you can add any music and effects.<\/p>\n

A small icon will appear at the bottom of the screen that reads \u201cSwitch to Video Mode.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Social Media Rivalry<\/h2>\n

This new feature is strikingly similar to Instagram. Instagram is known for allowing creators to post still image carousel posts on their feed and stories, and TikTok seems to have mimicked this.<\/p>\n

This adds to the recent history of social media platforms mirroring each other\u2019s features.<\/p>\n

In the past, TikTok has inspired new features across social media platforms, including Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and, most recently, Twitter\u2019s new video features<\/a>, so it may surprise some to see TikTok taking notes from other apps\u2019 features.<\/p>\n

TikTok\u2019s New Enhanced Editing Tools<\/h2>\n

In addition to TikTok\u2019s Photo Mode feature, the company rolled out a few new enhanced editing features.<\/p>\n
