Facebook plans to turn its main feed into a \u2018discovery engine\u2019 for video content, according to an internal memo sent to employees.<\/p>\n

The Verge obtained the memo and published it in its entirety. Though the memo is being revealed today for the first time, it was first sent on April 27.<\/p>\n

That means Facebook is already a month and a half into executing its \u2018near-term\u2019 plans. We may end up seeing these changes roll out sooner than later.<\/p>\n

Here are the must-know highlights from the memo written by Tom Alison, head of Facebook.<\/p>\n

Enhancing Content Discoverability<\/h2>\n

The buzzword Facebook is throwing around to describe its vision is \u2018discovery engine.\u2019<\/p>\n

Alison says that\u2019s what he wants to turn Facebook into\u2014a place where people can go and get recommendations for content they\u2019re likely to enjoy.<\/p>\n

He lists three near-term priorities that will help Facebook realize its vision:<\/p>\n
